Best Way to Fly

How to Save Money Flying but Making the Most of Your In-Air Trip

Do you have an upcoming trip that's fast approaching? Or are you possibly starting to plan a getaway vacation to get out of the office? Whatever you have coming up, keep these tips in mind to make the most of your mile high adventure.

If you want to make the most of your vacation and spend the least amount of money doing so, here’s how you can load up on some booze so that you’re not paying the $8 a drink when you flying high. According to TSA, you can bring as many ‘nips’ or ‘shooters’ through security. The measures they ask you to take, is to put them inside a clear quart sized zip-lock bag. As long as the ‘nips’ are under the 3.4oz liquid maximums and you can squeeze those babies in the bag, they'll usually them pass right through.

Great right?!

Rather than spending $16 on a couple of in air drinks, you can spend the same on nips and have more than enough for your round trip.

The only precaution you should take is when the stewardess comes through offering beverages, just gladly take the mixer of your choice and create your concoction. As long as you wait for them to continue on their path and aren’t belligerent with your alcohol, you are more than likely going to enjoy your ‘nips’ at your own convenience. I’ve done it multiple times and it makes the flights that much more enjoyable. Just make sure to offer your neighbor to join in your festivities....can't leave a brotha hangin'.

Additional Tip

If you find yourself getting dehydrated from all that alcohol, pack an empty water bottle in your carry on and fill it in the terminal after you pass through TSA. Not only does it save you from spending the exorbitant amount on airport bottled water, but it’s the easiest way to quench your thirst. So party on Wayne!
